A downloadable game

From dawn to dusk, take a short, peaceful stroll through life in a single day.

This is a solo-developed project to showcase my stylised 3D foliage modelling capabilities, and to learn more about level design in UE5.

I used Maya and Blender to model all the props, ZBrush to sculpt them, and made materials for them using UE5's node graphs. I used the landscape and foliage tools in UE5 to create the level, and made several virtual runtime textures to adapt the colours on the grass, trees, and rocks depending on what colour terrain they were placed on.

All the cliffs and ground rock pieces are made from a single versatile rock mesh.

I used the water shader, the smoke VFX, and the campfire, stool, bench, and sack models from the Fantastic Village asset pack on the Unreal Marketplace.

Narratively, the level is intended to represent the journey of life, beginning with birth (dawn), and ending with death (dusk) as the player looks back out over the paths they travelled.

There are no menus or end condition; press F4 to exit.
